Business Cards: Professional and Playful

I know that I should already have business cards, being a business major and all, but I just haven't gotten around to it. But, now that I have an internship and other professional opportunities I really feel that I need to get some business cards. I have been strolling pinterest and found a few that I like. I am looking for something decently priced, and professional, but also a little playful.

Here are some professional and playful standouts:
Oscar & Emma
Craft Lovely
The Thoughtful Type
These are all so beautiful and professional. My favorite is the first one from Oscar & Emma. It is beyond gorgeous. The silhouette, fancy script, gold foil lettering. I could definitely do something like this.

Any suggestions? To put/not to put on a business card? Personal favs?

Pourquoi Pas Moi

The College Prepster posted about the french song, Zou Bisou Bisou, the other day and it really reminded me about how much I adore french music, especially 60s french and pop.

When I was a teen (don't miss that at all!) I totally went through this phase where I only listened to 60s french and the Oldies station. I must say, I was pretty cool (read: weird). Anywho, I love french music so much. I find it to be the perfect genre for springtime and love in general.

Maybe I am going through another phase or something but I cannot stop listening. I have had Spotify playing the Gillian Hills radio station since TCP's post. I even got Ashbabe on board and convinced her that we should go to France!

Here is one of my favorites:

Make It Work.

Another one of my new mottos this year is to just 'make it work' (Tim Gunn's famous motto).  I am making it work in school. I am getting my anxiety in check and making it work that way. I am making our aparta-room work.

In fact, I am making it work so hard that I got myself amazing internship! I am so excited! I will be a social media/seo/content intern at Uhsome, a media and marketing company. And I will absolutely be making it work there. My first day is tomorrow and I am so very excited.

This will be my first internship and hopefully not the last. The culture at Uhsome is professional and yet so laid back. I love it! It is a beautiful workplace and I am very excited to be a part of this fantastic company and to have this wonderful opportunity.

How do you take what you have and make it work?

Healthy Cravings!

One of my resolutions this year is to get as healthy as possible. This has been really easy since I have been craving salads everyday and all day lately.

Yesterday, we made salads. They were impressively giant and colorful. Absolutely just what I wanted and needed. I really love the way I feel after I eat a really good meal. Better, awake, full, and ready for the next good meal.

In my salad I had fresh green lettuce, yellow, red, and green bell peppers, avocado, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese, feta cheese, and croutons. I topped it with some amazing caesar dressing.

Having cravings for healthy food is great. I feel as if I have won than half the battle, even though the easter candy is still calling my name (yikes!).

Is eating more healthy one of you resolutions? What are you doing to keep at it?

Adult Status

This weekend has been great. So much has been accomplished (Spring Cleaning). Today was extra great because we bought our very first washer and dryer (used of course, but they are ours). I feel so grown-up. A leap into the adult world. Best of all, no more hauling mounds of clothes to the laundry mat every week (and by every week I mean when we can afford it).

This weekend has been the beginning of something better than ever. Now that everything is organized and in its place I feel like we finally have a home (or at least an aparta-room).

A clean room has a big impact on my emotions. I feel calmer, lighter, and less stressed out or frustrated. Since, I tend to take on every one else's' stress it is really nice to be able to relax when I walk into the room. Everything really feels like it is going to just get better and better.

Check out our new washer and dryer:

Sorry about the mess of clothes and hampers. Like I said, we could only go to the laundry mat when we could afford it and we really wanted to save up for these.

What really made you feel like you gained adult status?

Spring and New Beginnings

I had a life isn't fair, give up, everything sucks attitude for a while and it was really destroying who I am and who I want to become. I was stuck in this funk and it was not productive and not in the least bit attractive. I could see people's faces change when we spoke. My attitude was a disease killing all the happy around me. I went to bed crying a couple times. Sometimes being cranky and mad is easier because it is easier to push those emotions to the side and that is what I have been doing for so long. I pretended to deal with them and then they consumed me.

A week or so ago, I thought to myself that it doesn't have to be this way. Everyday is a new beginning. Everyday is a choice. Choose to be happy today. I made a conscious choice to be happy.  That didn't just mean putting on a smile (although that really does help!), but it also meant that I had to choose to let go of the things that fostered all of that negativity (counselors are great, btw!). So after I worked through them and actually got rid of those buried emotions I felt so much lighter and alive.

Is there a better way to celebrate new beginnings than with new spring stripe dresses from the loft?

Who is Cheesy Daisies?

I wanted to go over a little about me and my life so you can get a sense of who I am and what this blog is all about.

My name is Rebecca. I used to go by Becca, but lately I am loving how grownup Rebecca sounds. I am a marketing major at The University of Tampa. I am not sure where my career is going to take me. I am hoping somewhere in the social media direction, which is reason #1 for having started this blog.

I am a commuter student (reason #2: was the lack of a commuter student blog community and I thought that maybe there are others like me). I bought my first car last August (2012) it comes with $200 dollars a month car payments, but it is lovely none the less (reason #3: I want to express how it feels growing up, being an adult, but not yet free).

I have anxiety (reason #4) and I would like to ease some of those apprehensions by talking through them and meeting new people through this community that I have created. Which brings me to the point that I am not a people person. I do enjoy the company of people. It is more giant crowds and wal*marts that make me frustrated beyond belief. I would always rather cuddle up with a good book than go to a networking event, which is sometimes not the appropriate option for someone who really needs and wants to meet people. I wrote about my anxiety and the appointment with a counselor here.

Reason #4: I have really big dreams and I have every intention of living them out. I plan to graduate as soon as possible with as much experience and as little debt as possible. This has not been the easiest of tasks, especially since I just switched my major last semester.

This year I plan to accomplish so much and I hope to share all of it here, with all of you.
